Home area networks refer to networks deployed in residential premises employing wired or wireless technologies. The method architecture of the network is shown in Figure 7 A doable implementation of this system uses a ZigBee network for realizing the HAN. The numerical final results show that WiFi Direct method not only improves the energy saving in the HAN for Intelligent Grid, but also enhances the reliability of HAN communications for Sensible Grid. The evolution towards the Sensible Grid begins with innovations in the existing grid by incorporating new ICT technologies in many point of the infrastructure.
Implementation challenges from the hardware and computer software point of view and attainable architectures and implementation applying COTS elements are proposed for key nodes of the clever energy HAN: wise energy meters, smart plugs, and a Home Energy Angel details box critical for power management/saving policy and for power awareness.
All these HAN devices are applying a previous version of Wise Power Profile, recognized as 1. (or 1.1, or 1.x, based on the latest update), which is distinct to ZigBee. Thinking of the power saving prospective of the emerging WiFi Direct technique, we evaluate the performance of WiFi Direct method in Home Area Networks (HANs) for Wise Grid communication from two elements: power consumption and downlink outage functionality.
The role of the clever facts box is to collect information from the HAN to compute them employing data coming from the world-wide-web network (customer’s tariff, billing account data) and to present them by means of a user-friendly interface. Particularly, a right design of the HAN have to assure each customers’ privacy and power efficiency of the technique. Particular goal networks include storage location networks, home area networks and physique region networks.
Even though low-powered Wi-Fi has virtually no HAN devices in the market place, low-powered BlueTooth has none and ZigBee has about 100 (consisting of versions of the Wise Energy profile and Household Automation profile that do not interoperate with every other), Z-Wave has more than 400 and expects to hit the 500 certified interoperable device milestone by January.
